CHRISTIAN SOCIAL WORK INSTITUTIONS

The Old People’s Home in Tenke/Tinca has been in operation since 1994. It was designed for 21 residents but 23 live there at the moment. Admission is conditional upon the residents contributing 80-90% of their pension as well as at least 75% of their property. There is a staff of 11, although they are helped by out-workers. The institution was established in the building of the former Reformed school and belongs to the Királyhágómellék Reformed Church District. It lacks permanent financial support and the 80% of the occupants’ pensions does not cover expenses. Donations are received ad hoc, so allotments are maintained in order to provide a more or less guaranteed supply of food.
